Harris Calnan Team Successfully Completes Charity Abseil for Maggie’s
The Harris Calnan team has successfully completed their charity abseil down the iconic Leadenhall Building in London, raising money and awareness for Maggie’s, a charity that provides vital support to people living with cancer and their families.
After weeks of fundraising and preparation, members of our team joined a fantastic group of professionals from across the construction and property industry to descend the 225-metre-tall Leadenhall Building, better known as the ‘Cheesegrater’. It was an unforgettable experience and one that pushed everyone well outside their comfort zones, all in aid of an incredibly worthwhile cause.
While it was certainly a challenge, it was also a fantastic opportunity to come together with industry colleagues and demonstrate the strength of our sector when supporting charities that make such a meaningful difference to people’s lives.
Supporting Maggie’s
Maggie’s provides free practical, emotional and psychological support to people with cancer, as well as their family and friends. Their centres are located alongside major NHS hospitals, offering welcoming spaces where people can access expert advice and support whenever they need it.
From helping people understand a diagnosis and navigate treatment, to providing financial guidance, emotional support and wellbeing services, Maggie’s takes a holistic approach to cancer care. Their centres are designed to feel calm, welcoming and non-clinical, giving people somewhere they can talk openly, ask questions or simply take a moment away from the pressures of hospital appointments.
Every year, Maggie’s supports thousands of people across the UK, helping individuals and families navigate one of the most difficult periods of their lives. It is an incredible charity, and we’re proud to have played a small part in helping raise funds to support their ongoing work.
